How Do I Upload and Edit a Line Layout Diagram?

Summary: Using ArchFX React Line Layouts, an administrative user can upload a 2D image of the layout of an assembly line and map rectangular areas on it to machine names. When an operator needs to indicate which machine caused an outage, they will see the line layout and can conveniently click on the machine to select it. This article explains how to upload a line layout image and annotate it with labeled rectangular areas so it's ready for use in ArchFX React by operators.

Uploading a Line Layout Image

Log in to ArchFX Cloud.

Choose your Organization:

Click Factory Map:

On the left ribbon menu, choose Factory Map → Line Layouts:

Click Upload Layout Image:

Upload the image of your line:

Images must be no more than 1 MB in size. No specific aspect ratio is required, but you should choose an image with an aspect ratio that will fit well withing the "Update Downtime" dialog of ArchFX React (i.e. not too wide or too tall). Common image formats are supported including JPEG, PNG, SVG, GIF, BMP, ICO, and WEBP.

Annotating the Line Layout with Clickable Areas

After you upload the image, on the Line Layout Image screen, click Edit:

If desired, edit the file Name and Description.

Then, under "Clickable Areas," click and drag to draw a rectangle on the image where the first machine is located:

HINT: If you're trying to draw a rectangle and no rectangle is appearing, you may be drawing the rectangle outside the boundary of the image. Try drawing a smaller rectangle that closely surrounds the machine in the image.

Then enter a label for the machine and the number for the order in which that machine appears within the assembly line:

Repeat for the other machines until you've created clickable rectangles for all the machines on the line.

Click Update to save your work.

HINT: If you need to re-draw a rectangle, first delete it, then re-draw it, and finally re-enter the Label and Order for it.

Linking a Line Layout Image to a Line

On the left ribbon Factory Map menu, choose Sites:

Choose the Site you want to upload a Line Layout for.

Choose the Area of the Line you want to upload a Line Layout for.

Choose the Line.

On the Line page, click "Layout Image" to begin editing the Line's layout:

Click "Change Image" to associate the image you uploaded previously with the Line:

Choose the image you want to use on this line from the pulldown menu:

Then click Update to save your changes.
