ArchFX React Related Downtimes

Summary: The "Related Downtimes" feature of ArchFX React lets an operator indicate that one downtime event is related to a previous downtime event. Operators document these relationships to provide assistance during the problem analysis and triage process.

Enablement: This feature is not turned on by default. Email help@archsys.io if you want the Related Downtimes feature enabled at your site.

When would I use the Related Downtimes feature?

Here are some situations in which you might choose to link downtimes as related:

• Show cause and effect: A machine's power adapter burned out. That caused one downtime. Later, it was discovered that smoke from the burning power downtime had spoiled a batch of solder paste, causing a second time. You would open the "solder paste" downtime and within it, select the "power adapter" downtime as being related, because the earlier downtime event caused the later downtime event.
• Show repeated occurrences of the same issue: A particular feeder keeps jamming on a Pick and Place machine. Each downtime can be linked to the prior one so that during downtime analysis, the relationship between the individual downtime events is obvious.

How do I use the Related Downtimes feature?

• Open a downtime event.
• Click in the Related Downtimes field to show the list of previous categorized downtimes.
• Choose the previous categorized downtime that you believe is related to the current downtime event.
• Submit to save your changes.

Notes

• A downtime can only be linked to a previous downtime that has already been categorized, not to one that is later in time or has not yet been categorized.
• Multiple downtimes can all be linked to a single previous downtime if desired.
• You can create linked lists of downtimes if desired. Downtime C can link to previous downtime B, which can link to previous downtime A.
