Summary: On the Run / Jobs tab, you can use the Create Job, Start Job, and Stop Job buttons to create and manage the queue of jobs for the day or week.
To create a job
Click Create Job to create a new job. (When you Start Shift, this dialog will open automatically.)
You then fill in the job name, number of units to build, target takt time, and choose which machine you want to use to measure takt time. IMPORTANT: on an electronics assembly line, you should choose the last P&P machine on the line as the pacemaker; it will give the most consistent results.
By default, ArchFX React automatically detects a downtime event when the takt time exceeds the target by 20% or more. You can change the downtime detection threshold on a per-job basis by editing the "Target takt time" field.
Finally, click "Create" to save this job on the queue.
How do jobs relate to recipes in ArchFX React?
SMT boards commonly have a "top side" and a "bottom side" with an associated recipe for each side. To support sequential top side and bottom side builds on the same line, create one ArchFX React job for the top side and a second ArchFX React job for the bottom side.
In a future release, the ArchFX job object may support both a "top side" recipe and a "bottom side" recipe.
To start a job
On the Run / Jobs tab, click the "Start Job" button on one of the jobs listed on the queue.
To pause a job
On the Run / Jobs tab, click the "Pause Job" button on the job you wish to pause. To resume the job later, click the Continue Job button on the job.
To stop a job
On the Run / Jobs tab, click the "Stop Job" button on the job you wish to terminate.
Stopping a job will permanently delete that job from the queue.
If you need to interrupt a job to use a line or machine for a higher-priority job, Pause the lower-priority job, create and start the higher-priority job, and when it's done, Continue the interrupted job to finish out the remaining units of the interrupted job.
To delete a job
To delete a non-running job that is on the queue, click Start Job and then immediately click Stop Job. In a future release, a delete job affordance will be added.
